First SUICIDE SQUAD Trailer Officially Released!

Well….this is unexpected. Suicide Squad director David Ayer expressed some disappointment because someone leaked the Suicide Squad Comic-Con footage online in low crappy quality. Warner Bros. responded by officially releasing the sneak peek as well as the movie’s official logo.

The trailer itself looks amazing. We get a first look at the whole team including Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), and of course the icing on the cake – the Joker (Jared Leto).  I have a feeling that Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are going to steal the show. Leto looks like he is going to be a terrifying Joker. Did anyone else go crazy when Leto said  “I’m not going to kill you, i’m just gonna to hurt you, really, really bad”? He is looking truly insane.

The highly-anticipated movie doesn’t hit theaters until August 2016, (then again the Batman v Superman trailer was released and it also comes out in the same year…). Warner Bros. also released an official statement which you can read beneath the trailer below!

“Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.” – Sue Kroll of WB

I give credit to Warner Bros. for releasing the trailer and I understand where they are coming from. We live in an age where information is deciminated so quickly. Comic-Con is known for new hi-profile trailers and breaking news about movies, tv and other forms of media. The event has become so humungous, it is now a hollywood event. Odds are whatever is shown at Comic-con…its not going to remain a secret for long. Studios must have a contingency plan, because whether they try to utilize their anti-piracy teams, it’s going to get out there somehow or someway. Perhaps they show a trailer that they WANT released (knowing it could leak) and release it the day after the event. I’m sure its disappointing to the studio, but honestly I think they come out on top in the end. The trailer looks so awesome and is going to generate so much interest and so much hype. I know that we are looking forward to Suicide Squad, how about you? What did you think of the new trailer?
