Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan and Alexandra Shipp have joined the cast of Fox’s X-Men: Apocalypse. Turner will play Jean Grey, Sheridan will play Scott Summers/Cyclops and Shipp will portray Storm.
Director Bryan Singer made the announcement yesterday via Twitter.
Sophie Turner, the 18-year-old actress who plays Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones, had a bit of a freak out moment about landing the role of Jean Grey.
Last November it was announced that Oscar Isaac would play the villain Apocalypse. These new characterswill join Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), and Evan Peters (Quicksilver). There is still no word whether Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen will appear. but we’d be very surprised if he and Ian McKellen didn’t at least make a cameo. Hugh Jackman would show up as Wolverine whether he is casted or not…because he’s Hugh Jackman for goodness sake.
