The X-Files news just keeps on rolling in! We posted an article the other day about the interest of reviving the series and bringing back David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. The show ran on Fox from 1993-2002 but Fox hasn’t elaborated on the news because the process is the early stages. Though, they did mention that they have reached out to series creator Chris Carter and the two stars of the series David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
From a recent Nerdist podcast, we learned that Anderson is excited to play FBI Agent Dana Scully again. The question is….how does Duchovny feel about playing Fox Mulder again? He recently told USA Today that he’s “”more than happy and excited to bring it back and do it again with (co-star) Gillian (Anderson) and (series creator) Chris (Carter).”
Duchovny expects that The X-Files will be back “sooner rather than later.” Don’t expect it to be a full season though. “Certainly I can’t nor would I be interested in doing a full season,” Duchovny said. “It will be in some kind of limited form. We’re all old, we don’t have the energy for a full season.”
Sounds like we could end up with a shortened season kind of like what Fox’s other popular show 24 had last year. Would you be interested in something like that? Or would you rather have another X-Files movie? Let us know know what you think!
