This information is classified and i’m not sure you’re ready to read this but…..Fox has confirmed that it is in talks to revive its iconic supernatural horror procedural, The X-Files.
At the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour over the weekend, Fox TV executives Dana Walden and Gary Newman said they’ve been in talks with series creator Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, about the show’s revival! The discussions so far have been logistical in trying to figure out Carter, Duchovny and Anderson’s project schedules. The biggest obstacle facing the reboot could be finding a time frame in which all three are free. Here’s Walden:
Gary and I both worked [at 20th Century Fox Television] through the entire run of The X Files. It was a great experience. We’ve maintained good relationships with Chris, David and Gillian. We’re very hopeful, but it’s hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris has a lot on his plate, so it’s just trying to carve out the time.
Newman says he is “hopeful” about the outcome of the talks.
Let me start out by saying…HELL YEAH! X-Files fans have been waiting a long time for this. I was always perplexed as to why X-Files had to end – I suppose you could say that about any well written tv show. I’ve been watching old episodes on Netflix and a strange phenomena is occurring….I find myself getting sucked in again! The bottom line is that The X-Files still have tons of life – they can create new cool stories that relate to the current status of life in America and abroad. Whether it’s a movie, mini-series, reboot or a continuation – Make it happen Fox! I WANT TO BELIEVE!
