Tom Hardy Leaves Suicide Squad, Jake Gyllenhaal Eyed as his Replacement

So here is some unexpected news, The Hollywood Reporter has recently learned that Tom Hardy has abandoned Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad movie. In the film Hardy would have portrayed team leader Rick Flag.

The Wrap reports that Hardy has his hands full. Not only is he committed to another movie titled The Revenant, which is “going over schedule,” he also is doing promotional duties for his upcoming movie Mad Max: Fury Road. All of this caused him to leave Suicide Squad.

Director David Ayer reportedly already has Hardy’s replacement. The Wrap reveals that actor Jake Gyllenhaal is now being offered the role of Rick Flag role. There is no official word though from either Warner Bros. or Gyllenhaal’s camp. Are you bummed? Do you think that Jake Gyllenhaal will make a good Rick Flag? If not, then who would be your ideal choice?

Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5, 2016!

One response to “Tom Hardy Leaves Suicide Squad, Jake Gyllenhaal Eyed as his Replacement

  1. Honestly, I like Jake Gyllenhaal, but he doesn’t have the right facial look. Honestly, age Channing Tatum a bit more and he’d fit the look a lot more, possibly not acting chops though.
