Recently Microsoft has registered a trademark for one of the most frustrating games i’ve ever played on an NES: Battletoads. according to documentation discovered by NeoGAF (via IGN). The document is dated for November 5 and is for “game software.” No further information is available at this time.
Battletoads is a retro sidescrolling beat’em up video game, which is notorious for being difficult. The players take control of the Battletoads – Rash, Zitz, and Pimple. The game was developed by Rare, which is now a subsidiary of Microsoft.
This could be a hoax, so don’t get yourself worked up. A spokesperson from Microsoft provided IGN with a comment on the trademark, saying “Microsoft often acquires various trademarks as part of its ongoing business strategy, but beyond that we have no comment.”
So how do you feel about this? Do you think we will be getting a new even more frustrating Battletoads game making a new generation want to rip out their hair?
When you pause a game, you don’t expect there to be music. This game had the best pause music. See if you can survive 10 hours of this….hah.
