Star Wars Rebels: Spark of a Rebellion pulled in 6.5 million viewers last Oct. 3 when it debuted on the Disney Channel. Now it is getting the special treatment on ABC prime time. Vader will be added to the special ABC episode and will be voiced by James Earl Jones. The scene will feature Vader speaking to the Star Wars Rebels villain, the Inquisitor. Executive producer Dave Filoni told StarWars.com the following:
“We wanted to do something special for the ABC broadcast. We’ve added a scene which gives audiences insight into the Inquisitor and includes a cameo by Darth Vader voiced by the distinguished actor James Earl Jones.”
The Story of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of a Rebellion takes place five years before the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and introduces the crew of the Ghost, a band of rebels who fight against the Galactic Empire. The plot centers around fourteen year old orphan Ezra Bridger as he joins the crew of the Ghost and learns he can use the powers of the Force.
Star Wars: Spark of Rebellion will air with the added Darth Vader scene on Sunday, October 26 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
New episodes of Star Wars Rebels are already airing Monday nights on Disney XD.
