Warner Bros. is going back to the drawing board and is rebooting ‘I Am Legend’, according to Deadline.
A script was penned by Gary Graham, who was working at an Apple Store when he sold the script. The movie was originally called ‘A Garden at the End of the World‘ has regained some interest from the studio as it bought the script back in april. He was brought on to rewrite the script and asked to redraft something that could fit the ‘I am Legend” property. Retrofitting an existing script to fit a property is nothing new. There are countless franchises that have done so including Die Hard, the Jack Ryan films etc.
The 2007 movie led by Will Smith was a huge box office success, but Will Smith will not be featured in the movie. Some of you probably just let out a sigh of relief.
It all started with the Book ‘I Am Legend’ written by Richard Matheson in 1954. Soon after came a multitude of films based off of the book such as The Last Man on Earth (1964) starring Vincent Price, The Omega Man (1971) starring Charlton Heston and I Am Legend (2007) starring Will Smith.
